What Do We Live By?

A lot of people call themselves Christians, they attend church services weekly, say short prayers to God from time to time, give offering in the church, give to the needy, etc. But when it comes to our personal decisions and how we run our daily activities, we make decisions just the way we like, forgetting that we are supposed to be Christians and live by God's commands. This is not the right thing to do.

If you call yourself a Christian and you know and believe you are truly a Christian with the Holy Spirit living in you, your lifestyle should radiate your belief without you saying a word.

True Christians are required to live by God's word. When people see us, they should see God's character and glory radiating through us. It is a privilege that we have the Holy Spirit living in us because He is always ready to speak to us and direct us to do the right things at the right time.

I've made it a daily habit and mandated myself to pray and study the Bible every single day no matter what. With this, I can be sure that my mind is renewed every day, my relationship and bond with the Holy Spirit grows stronger each day and this ensures that I go out each day with that consciousness in me, thereby making me very conscious anytime I want to make a decision, no matter how small or insignificant it might be, living according to God's commands.

We have to stop being lukewarm Christians and living our lives every which way and still depending on God at the same time. It doesn't work that way.

The Bible says in Revelation 3 : 16

So because you are lukewarm, neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth

In this scripture we can see that God does not like seasonal Christians, we can't be Christians only on Sundays or only when we encounter problems. We should serve God day in day out, that's the only way we will grow as Christians.
